The Sky-Blue range consists of organic shapes inspired by the mountainous alpine region of Gifu prefecture. The glaze is fired at low temperatures to create a unique ‘crackle’ effect over a deep and vibrant blue background.
The Takai kiln is hard to find, located in an old pottery town behind a maze of small side streets. Taking inspiration from nature and ‘wabi sabi’ culture, they are renowned for their glass glazes and vivid colours.
Slight irregularities in size, glaze and texture reflect the artisan nature of the product and are embraced. Each piece is hand broken and reformed with our custom Kintsugi process, we blend the modern and traditional methods. This amazing piece has a truly unique story, take it home today before it’s gone forever
Dimensions: W 3” x H 1”
About Kintsugi:
The Art of Kintsugi is when broken pottery is repaired, with gold, silver, or brass filling the seams.
This metaphor represents us when we are broken...we can heal and become stronger, wiser, and more beautiful when we mend.
We have a more valuable life with knowledge gained from experience.
We become better than before.
Note:
Each of our pieces are broken and repaired using our custom Kintsugi method, and each one is unique as they all break differently. Each piece will have its own unique imperfections and flaws, and will look different from what is pictured in the listing. No two products are alike.
However, we will gladly send you a picture of your unique item before it is shipped, upon request!
